Fauna
The animal corner has some deers (Cervus timorensis) and tortoises (Aldabrachelys gigantea).
The garden also boasts several bird species. Parrots, ducks and the Madagascar moorhen commonly known as "Poule d'Eau" are regular encounters.
Within the ponds, several aquatic animals like turtles, fish and eels can be seen. The bats Pteropus niger, which is Mauritius's only endemic mammal, can also be spotted hanging on tree tops during day time.
